This former coaching inn, The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel is a breath of fresh air. Situated on six acres of grounds in the heart of Devon's serene countryside on the banks of the River Taw, you have everything you need to enjoy a peaceful getaway to the South Coast of England. With its history rooted in the 1800s, the building functioned as a coaching inn for the Earl of Portsmouth, then later became a fishing lodge for salmon fishermen due to its close proximity to the river.
The Fox and Hounds Country Hotel was awarded a Traveller's Choice Award in 2023 and 2024 due to its consistently fabulous reviews from guests, making it one of the best dog-friendly hotels in the area. Home to 22 fully-equipped rooms and a handful of exquisite luxury suites, there are plenty of options for you to choose from, and all double rooms are pet-friendly. Whether you're relaxing in the pub with a drink by the fire, unwinding in your room, or out and about exploring the rural countryside, you will truly relax in this gorgeous venue.
