Amazing views, not so luxurious hotel.

JS, Lancashire, stayed: August 2020

I was more than disappointed at the price which was paid for a luxurious break away. I understand that the hotel hadn't been open long before we arrived due to the covid 19 situation but on arriving and getting into the room, we opened the windows and the inside of these were thick with mould so we had to call for a cleaner. The decking on the outside wasn't very clean either, the floor could have been jet washed and there were plenty of cobwebs on the glass balustrade. I just thought that as we were probably one of the first to visit since covid 19 that it would have been pristine clean? This sounds quite picky but another couple of things which I found disappointing were that the double sinks in the bathroom had different taps (or is this just me?) and the bowl I had breakfast in, although this looking like a quality pot, was actually plastic??
I really do think that the price we payed was just for the view and it was spectacular, although not actually worth the cost paid.
Unfortunately, in all honesty, unless I was offered to stay here again at a cost of less than half the price I paid, I wont be coming back.
The bedroom did overall look like a make over is required.
I cannot comment on the spa as this was still closed from covid 19 when we visited.

The things that make this hotel special are the views and the private sauna in the room. The deluxe corbett rooms have a glass fronted balcony with amazing views of Loch Lomand. The rooms are comfortable and the private sauna is great, particularly as the Spa isn't yet open due to Covid. The restaurant is good ,although not much choice on the menu. The only negative was the hotel was a bit inflexible with regards to certain issues as I need certain requirements due to health problems.I was made to feel a bit of a nuisance whereas other hotels have been much more accommodating.Other than that we really enjoyed it and would stay there again.

Very welcoming staff in a fabulous location. We stayed in a Corbett deluxe room with an amazing view of the loch. The covid 19 protocols were very good.

September stay

Lorna K, Lancashire, stayed: September 2020

The views of Loch Lomand are stunning. Good spacious balcony to enjoy morning tea or pre dinner drinks.
The room was large enough and a first for me was having a sauna in a hotel room !
All the staff were polite and helpful.
Dinner was very nice and breakfast was excellent
It was just a shame the spa and gym were closed due to C19

Can't beat the location or the views

SM, Ayrshire, stayed: September 2020

Gorgeous views overlooking Loch Lomond. Weather was really good so that made it even better. The sauna in our room was a lovely and welcome surprise. Didn't notice that feature when I booked. Would have loved to give better scores but the service wasn't great. Not sure if this was due to a lack of staff or everyone a little on edge due to Covid. We booked a twin room with a glass of fizz on arrival. No Fizz and the room was made up as a double. This was quickly sorted whilst we went for dinner but no Fizz arrived. The food in the restaurant was a bit hit and miss. This is where better service could have helped. No-one came back to check our meals were ok and when they did come back to clear the plates didn't question why one of our plates the food was untouched. We explained the issue and the waiter replied "I'll tell Chef". Again one of the desserts was inedible and dry. Just glad we had ordered the cheese to share otherwise my sister was going hungry! It's such a gorgeous location that I would visit again hopefully once Covid is over.
