Lovely hotel for a first anniversary

We had a lovely stay at The Egypt Mill in the Cotswolds. Our room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a lovely bathroom. The setting is beautiful, and the 16th century building is full of character. The mill itself, with the flowing water, creates such a relaxing atmosphere.
As part of our Country Hotel Breaks package, we enjoyed a pre dinner drink followed by an evening meal, which was excellent. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, with good portion sizes and plenty of variety.
Overall, a really enjoyable experience, and I would happily stay here again.

A mixed blessing

Our stay at Egypt Mill was mixed. We had originally booked a stay at Sudbury House through
offpeakluxury,com only to be told after our booking that the hotel was closed on our selected date. We rebooked another date which was accepted, then were told a week before our stay that the hotel could not honour our booking. As a result we transferred our booking to Egypt Mill, but as our money had not been transferred we were charged again - later refunded, though our friends paid TWICE before the money was refunded. All in all a mixed experience, but we enjoyed our stay, found the food excellent and good value and the staff friendly and helpful.
We would not use offpeakluxury again.

very disappointed with country hotel breaks as my voucher was invalid on checkout as this company was in arrears with payments to the hotel therefore i was charged for my stay !!
I am waiting for all full refund from Country hotel breaks

A relaxing stay

We stayed 2 nights here and had a lovely large room on the third floor overlooking the garden. Although there is a small "mind your head" sign on the low beam in the bathroom, I managed to bash mine twice so I think some foam attached around the bean to protect customers' heads would be an improvement.

It would be nice to have a box of tissues in the room - most hotels of this standard do provide this item.

Lovely short stay

Only here for one night but would certainly consider a longer stay. Very welcoming from the minute we walked through the door. Very comfortable room, lovely restaurant and food

Just what we needed!

We wanted a restful weekend away from everyday life, with a little luxury but without stuffiness. This is exactly what Egypt Mill delivered. Our room was immaculate and lovely and warm when we arrived after a very dark and rainy drive. The fresh cookies were a nice touch. Our room had a slipper bath which we enjoyed - so relaxing. All of the staff are attentive and efficient and friendly. Nothing is too much trouble . The restaurant offers a very nice selection of meals and breakfasts. We found that we slept very well - the best and bedding were top notch and the weir nearby with the sound of water flowing was heaven.
