Child Policy
Children are welcome, up to two extra beds can be accommodated in some Deluxe rooms and Suites. The supplement is £20.00 per additional guest, per night to include breakfast.
As all bedrooms are individual in layout, please enquire before bppling so our team can help you find the room best suited to your needs.
Dogs Policy
Up to two well-behaved pups are welcome to stay with you in some bedrooms.
The B&B doggy rate is £20.00 per pup, per night. Your hound will receive a comfy doggy bed for use during their stay, some special treats, and a Hound Bag tote filled with useful accessories for your stay, including a tennis ball, poo bags, dog treats and a walking map featuring routes local to the hotel.
Please bring bowls, a doggy towel, food and Fido's favourite lead.
The Rooms at Forss House Hotel
Classic room
There are two Classic Bedrooms in the main house – Shurrery and Tulloch – each decorated to a high standard with warm textiles and beds with oversized headboards. These rooms have contemporary en-suite bathrooms.
And two classic rooms found in the Fishing Lodge (a stone's throw from the main house) – Falls and Barmore – these are newly refurbished to an exceptional standard. These rooms are fitted with comfortable super-king-size beds which can be made into twin beds for family or group stays. There's a spacious lobby area, perfect for storing fishing equipment, wellies or hiking gear, as well as plenty of bedroom space and a modern en-suite bathroom with bath over shower.
Deluxe Double room
The Deluxe rooms in the main house have views over the garden through grand Georgian windows which let in an abundance of natural light. Six of these boast a super-king-size bed and the seventh has a generous king-size.
The River House bedrooms are just along from the main house, hidden away in the peaceful gardens, each with patio doors looking out into the woods. In these spacious light-filled rooms, you'll find a comfortable super-king-size bed plus ample wardrobe space to help you feel right at home. Designed with your pooches in mind, these rooms are perfect for memorable 'petaways', so you and your dog can enjoy the fresh Highland air and your four-legged friend can have the time of their life.

Superior room
Brimside, Torran and Cairnmore are the hotel's most luxurious bedrooms, named after the family who used to own the property, and located in the main house. In these rooms, you'll be able to relax in a grand super-king-size bed for a peaceful night's rest. They have spacious seating areas, perfect for hunkering down. With statement lamps, warm textiles and beds with oversized headboards, these spaces offer an indulgent home-away-from-home feel.
They're beautifully complemented by contemporary en-suite bathrooms, with floor-to-ceiling marble tiling, charming his and her sinks and roll top baths.
Kiln House suite
Spread over three floors, Kiln House has a spacious living area that's perfect for entertaining your party on the ground floor. Below there is two generously sized single rooms with hanging rails and a dressing table/desk area. The rooms have breathtaking views of the waterfall - nature's own white-noise machine! On this floor there's also a family-sized bathroom with a bath-shower.
On the first floor, there's a large bedroom with a king-size bed and bedside views of the waterfall. This room features industrial locker storage and has a spacious en-suite bathroom with a bath-shower. With wooden floorboards throughout, slate floor tiles and exposed ceiling beams, this waterside retreat combines a contemporary finish with a rustic farmhouse style to create the ultimate country-home feel.

Mill House suite
This separate house – with its eclectic mill house features, retro lighting and industrial furnishings – oozes character. Mill House bedrooms are separated by a large living room-diner on the first floor, with one king-size bedroom on the lower ground floor (with en-suite) plus two king-size bedrooms on the top floor with a large family bathroom.
With a boot room and a convenient table/desk area, this suite has been designed to include everything you need for a homely stay in Thurso.
