Excellent short stay. Very helpful, friendly staff in all areas. Good restaurant well located overlooking the lake & spacious grounds.

Beautiful location

TR, Bedfordshire, stayed: July 2017

Lovely hotel situated on the riverside. Hotel has a Scandinavian feel to it, lots of air and space and calming colours. Restaurant overlooks the river. Our room had a patio which overlooked the river.  Vegetarian meals somewhat lacking, but lots of fish on menu.

Could be better

David, Middlesex, stayed: June 2017

Toilet seat in the gents spa broken. Large mirror in the Brasserie is clean at the bottom but dirty at the top. Four lights on the ramp down to the gardens not working. The patio furniture is of a good quality but requires oiling to bring it back to the expected standard. In general our stay was very good. Gabor, a waiter was very helpful and polite. Our meal on the second night was very poor unlike our first evenings meal which was excellent. Breakfasts were very good.

Relaxing stay

BC, Kent, stayed: May 2017

The hotel is set by a lake in rolling grounds - lovely and relaxing.  All the staff were so friendly and helpful with attentive service in the restaurant where the food on both menus was excellent, with the inclusive menu exceptional value for money.

Should have been better

Martin, Essex, stayed: May 2016

A potentially enjoyable stay let down by the restaurant and attention to detail.  Vegetarian option on the menu was repetitive and dull. Desserts were well presented but bland in taste.  Prearranged cycle parking was fighting for space in an unlocked active storage shed.  On departure the bill did not resemble the receipted extras, being more than doubled. When queried the staff just accepted immediately our challenge and produced a replacement bill.  It's a shame the hotel was let down by the attention given to detail, it could be excellent.
