Facilities at South Lodge Hotel & Spa
A 5 star country house hotel situated in 93 acres of Sussex Parkland. The gardens contain over 200 varieties of Rhododendron, Camellias and Azaleas which present a magnificent sea of colour when in bloom.
Local attractions include Arundel Castle, Petworth House, show jumping at Hickstead and two championship golf courses just 5 minutes drive away at Mannings Heath.

Comfy room
Comfy rooms come in an array of charming styles and can be found scattered around the estate. Some are small and packed with character, others are large and elegant. All are beautiful. In most Comfy rooms, you can expect a king-size bed and a bath and a shower. There's also a comfy chair or two and a work desk.
Comfy with a View room
Make the most of the soul-soothing setting by bagging a Comfy room with a view. These fabulous rooms come in an array of styles – but most importantly, they offer gob-smacking views over the South Downs. If you can tear yourself away from the windows, you'll find plenty to admire inside, including a comfy king-size bed, well-appointed bathroom and relaxed seating area.
Luxe Junior suite
Offering plenty of personality-packed room for two to unfurl, these generous pads are all individually styled. Look out for beautiful traditional features like leaded-glass windows, rustic beams and oak headboards, along with more modern flourishes, like deep soaking baths and walk-in rain showers.
Luxe Junior Suites come with extended spa access from 1pm on the day you check in until 2pm on the day you check out.
Luxe Junior Suite with a View
Dotted throughout the hotel, these big, shareable suites feel satisfyingly self-contained. Think lavish sleeping quarters, showstopping bathrooms and plenty of squishy seating to unravel on. Each unique space has its own trove of delightful moments to uncover, whether it's delicate wallpaper, a hand-carved wooden bedstead or dazzling mosaic bathroom tiles.
As well as being ridiculously roomy, these suites have handy features like working desks and separate baths and showers – so there are plenty of ways for two to enjoy the space in perfect harmony.
Garden suite
Located on the lower ground floor of the Sussex Wing, the glorious Garden Suites offer views across the rolling South Downs. These dog-friendly spots have their own private south-facing gardens. Simply tumble out of the king-size bed, fling open the door and let your pooch scamper around to their heart's content.
When you're finished admiring all the bucolic beauty from your patio, you'll find your room well-equipped with air-con and a separate bath and shower.
Suite
These luxurious individually designed suites are perfect for couples who value time together.
Seek out the en-suite for a steamy rain shower or dreamy bath. Plop down on the plush sofa in the lounge to pore over a magazine. Or call first dibs on the working desk – if you really must be productive. You'll find everything you need for a supreme stay, from the king-size bed to the Aquavision TV in the bathroom.
The Spa at South Lodge

Nature has been the greatest source of inspiration for this serene haven of a spa, from the wild swimming pool and ecologically inspired treatments to the nourishing and natural spa restaurant, Botanica. Specially designed to integrate seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the sustainable spa building offers 44,000 square feet of pure bliss and endless views to help you switch off your busy mind and reconnect with your senses.

Indoor infinity edge pool – This 22m x 10m indoor pool is perfect for long leisurely laps and very handy for the thermal facilities.
Outdoor vitality hydrotherapy pool – A spectacularly bubbly heated al fresco spa pool with views out over the grounds. The water's so lovely, you might never want to get out.
Outdoor wild swimming pool – You don't have to go to the wilds to go wild swimming at South Lodge, there's an 18m long pool for that. Almost as nature intended, just with a little heating to keep it from freezing over. It hovers at around 14 degrees.
Cold water lake swimming – Floating or swimming in the naturally chilly lake is as invigorating and refreshing as it gets. With supervised swims each morning and afternoon, please book ahead.
