History of the hotel
Originally built in the late 14th century overlooking the Cuckmere River, Dean's Place as it was orignally known as began life as a grand merchant's manor before transforming into a country retreat in the early 1900s. Over the years, many travellers have experienced the warm hospitality and timeless charm
Child Policy
The Alfriston Hotel welcomes children and has various rooms suitable for families including family rooms and suites. The hotel also has selected Culture and Sussex rooms that can accommodate an extra bed which is suitable for children up to the age of 16 years. An extra charge will apply of £40.00 per night based on a room only basis. Cots for under 2's will carry a charge of £20.00 per cot per night.
Classic and Heritage cannot accommodate an extra bed.
Dogs Policy
Dogs are welcome in The Godfrey Bar for a feast, with plenty of treats and even a sausage at breakfast!

Plenty of room for the whole family—featuring a master bedroom and a cosy adjoining space with bunk beds. Younger guests can enjoy the outdoor areas and classic board games as well as all that the wonderful countryside has to offer. The Wellie Wall has boots in all sizes, so the whole family can explore the local countryside and little ones staying in our brilliant bunk beds also receive a cuddly lion and a storybook to take home.
