A fantastic stay at Beech Hill Hotel located on Lake Windermere.

Patsy M, Hampshire, stayed: March 2020

A most enjoyable 5 day stay in Beech Hill Hotel on Lake Windermere just before coronavirus meant we all had to stay in at home. We had superb weather (always a great help), the staff were polite, and friendly and the food was most enjoyable. We had a lovely room as did my mum and sister and we all enjoyed our stay.

Hotel with Lovely View of Lake Windermere

Anon, stayed: March 2020

The hotel had beautiful views of Lake Windermere and the hills on the opposite side to the hotel.
A lovely view from the bedroom of the snow on the hill tops changing each day, greeted us each morning.
Good sized bathroom with whirlpool bath and separate shower with large fluffy towels.
The food in the restaurant was delicious with a good menu to choose from with friendly helpful waiters/waitresses.
We had a most enjoyable stay and would recommend it.

This is our second visit and we would definitely stay again. Staff are friendly and food was amazing. The spa is great but will be better after their renovation as it is currently being extended. Would definitely recommend.

pleasant stay in atrocious weather

JB, Cumbria, stayed: February 2020

had a reduced rate stay here in feb 2020. reception and bar area are traditional style and attractive the room was good sized with comfortable bed and clean, however it was all starting to look a bit shabby. The evening meal was delicious, although probably not the best place for vegetarians, and breakfast was superb. The restaurant dealt well with the coeliac in our group. All the staff were very pleasant and helpful. Good value at the reduced rate.

Relaxing break in Windermere

EA, Merseyside, stayed: February 2020

Booked 3 nights early February with bed and breakfast, and an evening meal on one of the nights included in the package. The outside of hotel needs upgrading as entrance looks shabby. So different when you go into hotel, wonderful reception and large lounge area. Beautifully decorated and comfortable sofas, bar and newspapers etc to read. Welcoming staff. We were given a very large room on the ground floor with full length windows which overlooked Windermere lake. There was a patio door which opened and table and chairs outside where you could have sat overlooking lake in better weather. Tea/coffee biscuits etc. included. Disappointed not being on a higher level, the reception sent some bathrobes to use during stay, which was a thoughtful touch. The pool, sauna etc were fine, but the changing rooms were tiny with only 2 shower cubicles and no space to dry hair etc. also, which was not acceptable, they were unisex. Too tiny and no privacy, so went back up to room to shower etc.
The evening meal was very nice, we were asked to sit in lounge and waiter brought the menu and some canap s. The 3 course meal was lovely and would have cost 39 per person but was included in the package. The hotel is about 4 miles from Bowness and road not suitable for walking down, so needed to take car. All in all, good value for the money we paid, and we would stay there again.
