Parking on site with further parking nearby on street, 1 disabled bay but plenty of parking close to the ground floor rooms also. No EV charging but some are located 10 minutes from hotel.

Disabled Access

It is wheelchair friendly on ground floor. There are stairs with no lift to access lower and upper floors. A small portable ramp to allow access to main hotel entrance. Stables bedrooms in outer building off car park with disabled access

Historical Context of Duxford

Duxford is best known for its connection to aviation history, particularly the Imperial War Museum Duxford, which is located nearby. The museum is housed on the site of a former RAF airfield that played a significant role during World War II. The area is steeped in history, with its roots dating back to Roman times and later flourishing as a medieval village.

The Lodge was built in 1880 as the officer's mess for the RAF based at Duxford Airfield.

The Lodge's Role Today

The Lodge has been designed to reflect the charm and character of its surroundings while providing modern amenities and stylish interiors.

Child Policy

Children are welcome.

They accept children (12 years and under) with a supervised adult. They are able to put additional beds in certain rooms, please check with reservations on availability.  This is charged at a supplement of £25.00 per child per night.

Age restrictions - They operate a strict over 18 policy for any guests making a reservation or wishing to stay with us at The Lodge. Children over 16 can stay in their own room if booked by an adult also staying with us on the same night.

Dogs Policy

The Studio rooms are particularly well-suited for dog owners, providing easy access to the beautiful garden courtyard. This allows for a seamless transition between relaxation and exploration, ensuring both you and your pet have a memorable stay.   You will be supplied with a dog bed, bowl and treats. Maximum 2 dogs per room.  Dog beds and water bowls provided.  There are fridges in the rooms to store your dogs food and they will receive a complimentary sausage for breakfast. They allow well behaved dogs in the studio rooms at a supplement of £25.00 per dog per night.   Maximum 2 dogs per room.  Dog beds and water bowls provided.

Dogs are welcome throughout the hotel and restaurant.  They are not permitted in main restaurant after 5pm, 4pm last sitting prior to this.

There is a large terrace and garden area with lots of local walk routes and areas to let off lead.  

Two local park areas and recreation ground. Lots of dog friendly pubs and cafes locally.

Other Information

Across the road from Duxford Imperial war museum, connections with Winston Churchill as he is believed to have stayed in the hotel during his visits to the Duxford airfield during WW2. A time capsule from the period is rumoured to be located within the grounds.

There is a large tipi with sunday roasts and live music. Outdoor terrace and dining during summer months, firepit on upper terrace in warmer weather.
