Parking Facilities
The Lookout has its own private car park at the rear of the hotel, reserved for guests and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The car park is accessed via Conduit Hill, the cobbled street off Cinque Ports Street behind the hotel.
If you're arriving with lots of luggage, it's often easier to drive up into the High Street and stop briefly on the cobbles at the front of the hotel, just beyond the Landgate, to unload before parking. This gives you convenient access to the entrance.
History of the hotel
Set on East Cliff, The Lookout overlooks the Romney Marsh landscape that was once the bustling harbour of medieval Rye. As one of the original Cinque Ports, Rye played a vital role in England's maritime history, and the views from The Lookout offer a glimpse of the waterways that brought merchants, sailors and travellers to the town for centuries.

The Rooms at The Lookout
Cosy room
Cosy double rooms are just perfect for one night stay and are the smallest of our rooms available. All rooms have en-suite shower rooms with toilet. The rooms are light and airy, all rooms are on the second floor and face the rear side of the building overlooking the car park and onto the Monastery.
Classic
Classic Rooms are slightly larger than our Cosy double rooms and offer more equipped bathroom with a bath and a small seating area. Three of the classic double rooms are on split level with a small terrace, our other two are facing the front of the building.
Deluxe room
Deluxe rooms are more spacious than our Classic and Cosy rooms. Individually designed, their decoration and furnishings are elegant and luxurious. Each room offers an individual character. Some rooms can be configured as twin bedded rooms or with an addition child bed or cot. All Deluxe rooms have an en-suite bathroom with bathrobes provided for your use.
King
King rooms are the largest in the hotel. Individually designed, these rooms feature a seating area and super kingsize beds. Most have balconies, with views either onto the monastery side of the building or to the marsh.
One of the King rooms has a sofa bed for children. All of the king rooms can be configured as twin bedded rooms or with an addition child bed or cot.
All King rooms have an en-suite bathroom with bathrobes provided for your use.
