Dalhousie Castle is a truly beautiful hotel. It's reputedly the oldest inhabited castle in Scotland, situated just outside Edinburgh city centre on the banks of the River Esk. It's the perfect base to explore the popular Scottish city, but also the ideal, peaceful escape for a spa break.

With their 2 AA Rosette Dungeon Restaurant with a barrel-vaulted ceiling, uniquely decorated bedrooms with authentic castle decor and a spa offering a range of incredible facilities and treatments, what's not to love? And yes, there are knights in shining armour!

HOTEL RENOVATIONS IN PROGRESS Date: 14 February 2025

The hotel is open as normal with some public areas restricted as the work progresses. Once the public areas are finished, they will be refurbishing bedrooms which are sceduled to be completed by the end of the year. Work begins at 8am and finish at 3:30pm, Monday-Friday. There are no works that happen at the weekend.

The Dungeon Restaurant, The Orangery and spa are NOT affected. Currently there is table service for drinks served in our Library lounge.
