A relaxing stay and enjoyable break.
We very much enjoyed our three day stay at this hotel. The atmosphere was good and the family run hotel was welcoming and comfortable. On a very cold weekend the staff had ensured that the room was very warm on our arrival. The service was friendly and efficient. The food was excellent, but I have not given it 5 stars as the menu was very limited with very little change over three days. If we had stayed for four days we would be repeating the same meal and if vegetarian would have had the same meal every night. The walk down to and from the beach was described as invigorating and that for a 'pair of oldies' was an understatement. The climb back was difficult for anyone with arthritic knees. It was however lovely when we got there. I advise you not to use your satnav to find the hotel.
All first class.
I feel a bit of a fraud as I have put excellent against everything but in reality it is true. Everything was excellent and the restaurant was superb.
A little gem on the English Riviera
Everything about this hotel was superb. All staff from reception to dining room were welcoming, friendly, and helpful - a true home from home. The public rooms were tastefully decorated and furnished offering a touch of genteel but relaxing luxury. Our bedroom, No7, was was beautiful with stunning views over the grounds to the sea. The dinner menu offered plenty of choice and the food quality was excellent. Breakfast was substantial, again with plenty of choice. In all the hotel is great for a romantic break or for a celebratory occasion, but beware, there is no lift and so one is faced with a considerable climb (32 steps if memory serves aright) to the upper floor. We will definitely visit again but for a longer stay next time.
A wonderful short break with excellent food and staff.
A comfortable stay with amazing views
This was a short stay for my husbands birthday and it was an excellent one. The main highlights were the lovely sea views from our room and the comfortable country house atmosphere and the excellence of the staff, who were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the food they were serving and also the local area.
If there is a criticism - and this is a tiny one really - the sofa in our suite was so uncomfortable as the cushions moved away from you the moment you sat on them. If you lay down it was fine but not useful if you both want to watch the tv together!
Totally relaxing stay
Our stay was superb, we had room 6 which was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated, the whole hotel is superb and the family along with staff make it such a pleasurable place. Having raved on about the place two groups of friends have now booked short breaks. Will definitely be back ourselves in the future.
